Bordered by the Pacific Ocean on the west and the Caribbean Sea on the East, Costa Rica has diverse underwater landscapes and sea life to explore.
Costa Rica’s land and water are one of the most biologically diverse places in the world. When snorkeling you’ll even find different species of fish in the Pacific vs. the Caribbean bodies of water.
This is because the Pacific side of Costa Rica is rockier and the Caribbean side has more coral reefs, which bring in different fish and marine life to each area.
After living in Costa Rica for 6 years, I spent my fair amount of time snorkeling and scuba diving around the country.
That is why I decided to make a list of my favorite and the best spots to snorkel in the country.
Snorkeling is an excellent activity for spending time outside, relaxing, and leisurely exploring the vast underwater world.
It’s a must-do activity in any warm, tropical place like Costa Rica where there is an opportunity to spot colorful, diverse fish and other sea animals.
